Early 2017 Asus released the a new model of their slim laptops, Zenbook UX360U flip. The UX360U is released in few different configuration, i5 and i7 with FULL HD 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) and QHD 3200 x 1800 pixels 13.3 inches touch screen.
The UX360U has a 360 degrees hinges, means the laptop can be used a a tablet or laptop. Equipped with 256 GB or 512 GB Solid State Drive (SSD) 8GB or 16 GB LPDDR3 1866MHz SDRAM Onboard Memory (not up-gradable). And Three seconds boot and shut down, it is a nice piece of equipment.
At only 1.3 kilograms and 13.9mm ultra thin chassis, ASUS engineered and combined the elegant sophistication with convenience and versatility of a 360°-rotatable display. The UX360U is an ultra-thin, ultra-light convertible is a stylish laptop, a handy tablet, or anything in between
With touch screen laptops, it’s always a risk to crack the screens, and the touch screen part does not come cheap at all. A touch screen for a Asus UX360U or UX360UA costs $662.75 (You can buy the screen here) for a GENUINE ASUS spare part. With installation costing $154 incl GST, pickup and return.
At the time of writing this article (Aug 2017), there is no other alternative for the above screen, I am sure on some time an alternative / generic or overstock screen will come to the market at a cheaper cost, possibly 30% – 40% of the above cost.
This part is the touch and screen combo only, it does not include the hinges, back cover or any other parts integrated within the screen assembly.
