I don’t know about you but I’ve dropped my phone more times than I care to remember.
It is of course an iPhone so there’s that moment of “oh dear God, what have I done?” the moment it leaves your hands and meets the ground. In that exact moment you feel dread as if the whole world is going to swallow you whole.
The first time I dropped my phone, I experienced a moment of total dread knowing that the screen could be cracked. It was an awful feeling, but not as awful as the moment when you pick it up and check to see if it’s working. You notice that the screen is cracked, and you’re like, “no no no, please work, please work, please work.”
Even if it does work (and it generally will) you are still annoyed and wish you could rewind
the last few seconds, but you can’t. You can only look forward and think what you’re going to do about dropping your phone and how you’re going to ensure you have a working device.
Well fortunately you’re not the only person who has dropped their mobile phone and
cracked the screen and you certainly will not be the last, so there are plenty of places
around that will repair your screen for you.
We are one such place. Instead of spending upwards of $1000 on a new phone you can spend just a couple of hundred on a repair. A repair will increase the life of your phone. This will save you significant time and money in going through the hassle of buying a new phone.
Buying a new phone wouldn’t just be annoying because of the initial outlay for the actual
device. It would be annoying because you’d need to try and get all your data back. That
would include photos, music and anything else important you have on your phone.
You may not have dropped your phone yet, and if that’s the case you’d be one of the few,
so take advantage of that, and make sure you back everything up so that if the worst does
happen you have a spare copy.
You see! While we can repair your mobile phone, we always ask people to back up their phone prior to bringing it in. This is because sometimes we need to do a system restore after the repair and that can mean your files will be deleted.
This won’t really be as much of an issue if you have a Samsung phone because of the
external storage. You can simply take it out before you bring your phone in for repair.
Like all businesses we do have busy times and quiet times so depending on when you drop
your phone in, will depend on how long the repair will take but for a simple phone repair
you’re looking at around 30 – 60 minutes. That’s for a simple screen replacement of course.
Now this is a lesser known issue, but were you aware that eventually your phone will stop
charging? That’s right. If you have an iPhone the charging dock will stop working, so you’ll
need to get it fixed and then your phone will charge again.
This is another simple fix that will only take 30 – 60 minutes, but you’ll be able to get so much more use out of your phone and that will save you time and money.
We can’t emphasize the importance of backing up your data before you bring it in though. That’s extremely important as it’s not always possible to repair the device without losing
data and we want to avoid disappointment.
