1- Always start by removing the charger and battery
2- Press the power button for 30 seconds to release any power in the circuits.
3- Remove the LCD bezel, screen bezel on the portege has no screws holding it to the back cover. only clips and some adhesive at the lower side. it is also tucked in very well under the hinge covers, so be careful when removing the bezel.
Once the bezel is off, The Z30 should look like the image below.
4- Tilt the screen towards the keyboard. The screen is also just hanging there, no screws or anything holding it in place. Once tilted you should be able to see the LCD Cable (image below)
Note the lock on the LCD cable, make sure this is unlocked before attempting to unplug the lcd cable.
5- Once cable is unlocked, unplug the cable, remove the screen and plug in your new screen.
6- Test the screen to make sure all is working well, remove the screen protective cover. 
7- Now is the trickiest part of the repair, installing the LCD Bezel. The bezel sinks down to the bottom of the LCD cover and under the hinge covers.. make sure the screen is on 90 degrees when installing the bezel. The LCD bezel itself is quite sensitive.
