John | Hi. Is the Samsung NP740U3E replacement keyboard a genuine Samsung item?
Huss | Not Genuine, genuine you will be u for a complete palmrest with KB
John | OK… what would postage cost to Melbourne?
| | |
Huss | $16.5 | |
John | Thanks. What sort of quality is the keyboard – will it feel like the original to type on? Cheap ones from China cost about $16 – I would hope this one is better quality?
Huss | similar to original, but replacing this kb is not an easy job. as it fits from the bottom up and you have to use lots of adhesive to keep it holding
| also you may notice after a while keys sinking and / or bouncy. | |
John | Ah so to get the old one out I’d have to remove adhesive? Just wondering if it’s worth it for 1 key…
Huss | no | |
| you will have to remove all parts, then it is stuck to the top with plastic rivets which you need to heat up to remove or break of | |
| so when you are installing the new one, there is nothing to hold it firm, so you use adhesive | |
John | Ok that makes sense. Thanks for your help – appreciate it ๐ Is it possible to replace individual keys from the top?
| I’ve seen them available for $5 or so.. | |
Huss | possible, have not seen any one selling in OZ, but seen few in US
John | Must go – thanks again for your help ๐
Huss | worth a try if you ask me
John | Yes I may look into it ๐ |
